I found these answers after I purchased. And here’s what I found…
Young Living costs what they costs because they are THE BEST essential oils on the planet. Gary Young chose network marketing as the business model for Young Living so that someone would have to SHOW you what Lavender can do for you before they bought it (that’s why we like our oily classes).
They aren’t filled with synthetics or cut to make more for profit. You are getting the actually life blood of the lavender plant in a Young Living Lavender essential oil. They have a Seed to Seal quality control plan that I’ve seen with my own eyes at their distillery. They spray other pure oils on their crops so as to not use pesticides. It’s amazing. And, like many others, I tried store bought oils, and saw no results. So it led me to my next question,
will Young Living oils work for me?
3 reasons why you aren’t seeing your oils work
Essential oils are not medicine. They have been given the name “natural medicine” but as far as our modern definition of medicine goes, they are not. One thing that was hard from me and for so many other people at first is breaking the habit of treating essential oils like modern medicine.
We get sick, we go to the doctor, we are prescribed “medicine” we take it for a specific amount of time and then we stop.
Essential oils are a lifestyle. They are the equivalent to fruits and vegetables. Heck, some are! We have Carrot essential oil, Lemon EO, Basil, etc. Essential oils are a way of supplying our bodies with what it needs to function properly. Modern medicine is a way of treating or trying to fix a symptom of an underlying cause.
SYMPTOM - UNDERLYING CAUSE
Coughing - body trying to rid itself of foreign organism/bacteria
Fever - body trying to kill off unwanted or dangerous microorganisms with high temperature
Runny nose - body using mucus to drain the nasal passages of bad or unwanted bacteria
The list goes on…
Essential oils provide our body with weapons, tools, + more power, to rid the body or protect it from the bad stuff; yeast, parasites, bad bacteria overgrowth in the gut or other areas of the body, viruses, etc.
And with the use of essential oils, the time spent coughing, and having a fever, or the body doing its job in other ways, is lowered tremendously.
Essential oils are to be used consistently. Daily. And if there is a big issue that you are dealing with, several times a day. I see so many people use essential oils like a one time band-aid and wonder why they aren’t working.
Our bodies are rapidly changing, in an exponential degree, and essential oils are metabolized every 1-3 hours. So, consistent use over time is your way to go. A lot of our body’s cell don’t regenerate for weeks, months, or years. So using essential oils + oil infused products for shorter periods will not bring about desired results.
Consistency + persistence is key!
You are treating the symptom and forgetting to help the underlying cause
Itchy, rough, dry skin… well let’s make some Lavender + Frankincense cream and put that on there! That’s a great idea actually!
BUT don’t forget to research why you have that itchy, dry skin in the first place (low iron is a cause of dry skin, but not the only cause). It’s one thing if you’ve traveled up north and your body isn’t used to the dryer climate, but it’s another if your skin is trying to tell you something is off balance internally. That’s what symptoms are. They are warning signs and signals to let us know that something isn’t quite right. Headache? Maybe it’s dehydration, or maybe your thyroid isn’t working and your hormones are off balance, causing hormonal migraines (this was me!).
THIS is why it’s SO beneficial to have a great resource guide, or to be plugged into a good community that helps answer questions and provide education. It’s our responsibility to take care of our bodies. BUT I know that we aren’t all experts in anatomy and physiology (my favorite class in college!). If you are serious about giving this amazing, natural lifestyle a chance, you need to dig a little deeper and reveal the true cause to your symptoms.
**Once I tried Ylang Ylang for my headaches, which is a wonderful oil that helps to balance hormones, and it worked almost immediately, I knew my hormones needed some help. I Googled what produces our hormones, what affects our hormones, anything that had to do with hormones not working correctly, I checked our reference guides, and I deduced I needed to support my thyroid better. So now I take Thyromin, a YL supplement, every night and I am migraine free!!
You are looking at someone else’s situation and treating it the same as your own
Another reason why modern medicine, “let’s give everyone the same band-aid (antibiotics, a z-pack, etc.)” approach doesn’t work.
You are different than anyone else, ever your sibling, even your twin! Your body and your mind are not the same as the next person, and we know from research that even our thoughts + emotions have significant effects on our physical body, dating back from conception. Thoughts are stored, physically in our body’s cells, DNA, tissue, everything! And we don’t think the same as another. So, it’s safe to say, that even though one particular method, or oil, or supplement, may work the same for you as it did another, that doesn’t mean they all will.
This is why the reference guide lists SEVERAL options to each and every issue it has information on. Maybe you’ve tried a specific oil or supplement for your concerns but haven’t moved on to another. Maybe that one didn’t work for you and you’re afraid to try something else.
FRIEND, keep trying! There is an oil for that! We just have to figure out which one works perfectly for you. This has been shown all throughout the Young Living community. People say that Lavender or Tranquil really calms them down, but others say they have more energy when using these oils.
Modern medicine doesn’t deny this either. Take Benadryl. It puts me to sleep, but it gives my son the crazies!!
Recap… keep trying friend. Just because that one oil didn’t work, doesn’t mean you’re doomed. Keep exploring!
I’m on my lunch break I lay down for a nap and suddenly my nose opens up. Both nostrils. Ya’ll. This is a BIG DEAL. I do not exaggerate when I say it’s been years since I’ve been able to breathe out of my nose correctly for longer than a few seconds. I am so exhausted from the nights tossing and turning and trying to sleep at all with my mouth open. Those are the bad nights. And since I’m not jumping up and down and screaming physically, as I lay down for this nap, I am SO jumping up and down in my head, letting my body rest, praising God for fresh, new breathe.
Amazing what you take for granted until it’s gone.
So I’m in my head, over and over, I’m shouting, “thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus!” Completely elated and full of freedom and joy, over breathing right lol and the Holy Spirit speaks… He says, this is the feeling you should have before its happened. Revelation hits.
I have been going through this journey of visualizing myself presently in my future. Feeling the feelings of all that He has promised, feeling that now. Like it’s already happened. And I’ve felt a little stuck in doing so. In really feeling those feelings. And I think the Lord gave me something to work with. Something you can use as well. That immense gratitude you have over something you’ve been waiting for.. you now that beautiful joy that can’t be ruined, have you ever had that feeling? Now take that and feel that over something you are praying about. Feel yourself receive it. What does it feel like? Pure joy, freedom, more gratitude? This is having joy in the midst of struggle and trials and tribulation (James 1:2).
This is receiving freedom before it’s happened. And this is what God wants you to feel daily. Free. No matter your current, physical situation. I am so excited to apply this to all that I’ve been praying for, and I hope you do too, friend. Grab some scripture and put yourself in it. Feel it now.

Ladies, I'm letting you in on the secret that using essential oils in the bedroom, will change everything!
This past Friday, me and a few members in our essential oil community came together and had our very first make and take with essential oils in the bedroom.
We laughed and giggled and snickered and talked about soldiers and love buttons and hormones and blood flow and we made love potions and edible lubes and we had so much fun! It's refreshing to get together with women and chat about intimate things, allowing you to open up and discover and explore, in trust and confidence. The sharing and building up of others is such a blessing in itself. We take from each other's experience and give a little of ourselves. It grows you.

We grabbed this book Lucy Libido says.. there's an oil for that! and we learned the ins and outs for using oils in the bedroom. We learned that Cypress is helpful in supporting blood flow, and blood flow is important for certain sexual activities to occur! We learned that Clary Sage helps to support a natural lubrication in ourselves, and this helps with painful dryness that can happen with age. We learned that smells certain oils can get past our "thinking brain" and flow straight to our "thinking brain" or our limbic system, supporting our emotions. If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy! And we learned that we can support our normal hormonal function and libido with essential oils.

Here are 2 of the recipes we grabbed from the back of the book and made at our make and take! ENJOY!
Inner Thigh Potion:
10ml roller ball (I got ours here)
20 drops Sensation essential oil blend
10 drops Cypress
4 drops Orange
fill remainder of bottle with grape seed oil (or another carrier oil you like)
Roll inner thigh potion on inner thigh all the way up to the panty crease for increase blood flow and circulation and sensation! He'll love the way you smell!
Love Button Edible Lube
1 oz glass pump bottle (I got ours here)
3 tsp solidified coconut oil
1/4 tsp beeswax (grab some beeswax pellets here)
3 tsp grape seed oil
4-5 Peppermint Vitality
10 drops Grapefruit Vitality
3 drops Orange Vitality
Melt beeswax and coconut oil together in a double broiler (I use a glass bowl onto of a pot with water). When melted add the grapeseed oil and pour quickly into the glass pump bottle. Add in the essential oils and you're all done!

Non toxic, homemade play doh infused with calming Young Living essential oils.
I spent Sunday afternoon crafting some fun, colorful, non-toxic play doh with my little one, and we had a blast! I was looking for a hands on craft my four year old could participate in (wanting him to take a break from all the electronics!). We love our calming essential oils from Young Living (get your oils here), and any craft where we can incorporate them is a must for us!
This craft wasn't too time consuming or too messy (that's a plus for us moms) and he still had fun! Here's what you'll need:
Glass jars for storage
2 cups flour
1 cup sea salt
2 cups water
2 Tbs cream of tartar
2 Tbs solidified coconut oil
Non-toxic food coloring (I used these)
Calming essential oils (essential oils we like)
Combine all ingredients (except food coloring and essential oils) in a medium to large pot. Cook on medium to low heat, stirring regularly. The flour mixture will turn a little yellow. Cook and mix until you have a play doh like consistency. Remove from pot and allow to cool. Separate into four sections. Add food coloring to each section according to your liking. We had to add quite a bit of food coloring to get a good, overall color! Then add your desired essential oils to each section. I used 3 drops of essential oils for each section. Store in glass containers in the refrigerator!
We used Tangerine, Lavender, Grapefruit, and Stress Away!
